Blood and Steam
I believe most players in any of my 4th Edition campaigns, along with other of my fellows campaigns are familiar with the rules of Benefit Points. They function as Action Points except that they do not expire until used. They can be used in lieu of Action Points only once all Action Points have been exhausted from your pool. I am also going to initiate some new incentives along with accumulating Benefit Points. Accumulating a certain number of Benefit Points will allow you to trade them in for certain GM “gifts”.
I utilized a similar incentive in The Hidden but with speed tokens. The GM Gifts will come in the form of a card that can be redeemed for various in-game actions like an automatic critical hit or other forms of bonuses. I am also considering a rather lofty benefit reward, if enough points are accumulated, redeeming them for something along the lines of having a drawing of your character commissioned professionally.
Benefits can be gained by writing journals, fully fleshing out a character (background etc.) and other such work on this website and will be handed out by the GM.
